Joined Jul 29, Messages 2, Reaction score 2, I'm always on the lookout for new science-fiction RPGs, and I've heard good things about Star Frontiers even though I've never played it, so I purchased it. They're identical. If bandwidth or space is a concern, you only need to download one of each file. That's unusual and welcome. I also like the black and white art throughout. Too many RPGs these days go all glossy and colorful, raising the price exponentially for little value in return.
If it's a printed RPG book, just give me a nice, sturdy, hardcover with some representative black and white art. I also like that it just needs two d10s, and rolls go from I always found "00" equaling "" unintuitive.
I'm not sure I see the point of determining and writing down what hand your character prefers, but that's an extremely minor nitpick. It appears that it's the first of two core rulebooks. There's a Referee's Handbook due soon as well, which will cover designing your own setting as well as other things I presume.
