Again, this a was mandatory reading for a class so if you're looking at this book it's probably because you have to. Ebooks should be cheaper plus, they are easier to take notes in and highlight in. Also, if you need glasses and refuse to get some, the font can be increased dramatically; this is yet another plus for ebooks. Beyond that gripe, my 3 star rating has nothing to do with price or rental options but is based on the book.
Three and one half stars is more accurate because a subject that has the potential to be interesting, is only interesting about half of the time. The book seems redundant but if you've taken enough Anthropology or Sociology, the terminology is the same no matter the variant, so it could just seem repetitive because of that fact.
Basically, the book is all about cities; everything about cities anyone can imagine and more. I thought the history and culture of the more ancient cities was the most interesting part of this book and then to use that knowledge to help paint a portrait of globalized cities in the future.
A good price for this book. I needed it for a class-I'm glad you had it. This Book is unacceptable, but that' not what the heading said when I bought the book! Book was in great condition.
